A race like no other
“Such an incredible thing to achieve … running a marathon in UGANDA!”
Take part in our newest adventure. Tried and tested by our founder, Carla, we can promise you a race of a lifetime.
The Uganda Marathon is an opportunity to experience the culture, landscape and hospitality of the beautiful Uganda. A chance to be the positive change you want to see in the world. A challenge to push your body to its limits.
Sunday, the 4th of June 2017 will see the third annual Uganda Marathon take place, along the banks of Lake Victoria.
But this is more than just a race: this is a week long adventure.
One amazing and truly unique week on the Equator combining volunteering, music, festival and fun, culminating in a 10k, half or full marathon alongside 3,000 local runners.
Arriving in Uganda on Monday 29th or Tuesday 30th May, the pre-race schedule will not only allow you to acclimatise in the athletes’ village, but will also encourage you to immerse yourself in the incredible local community. You’ll have opportunities to volunteer and see where the money you’ve raised has gone. You’ll have opportunities to experience the beauty of a country that pulls in over 250,000 tourists a year. You’ll make memories that will last a lifetime. This is a race like no other, and the ultimate holiday experience.
You’ll receive the full support of East African Playgrounds – from a fundraising kit to the 9-5 Monday-Friday support from Andy, one of our incredible fundraising team, who is bursting with resources and ideas to get you to whichever target you choose.
