Uganda Volunteer Project

We pride ourselves on giving our volunteers unforgettable experiences, new skills, new friends and the chance to make a huge difference to the lives of children and young people in Uganda.

The project

Join us this summer and help transform a community school in Uganda by building an amazing new playground from start to finish. As well as this, assist on our Arts & Play program to inspire the children at a school to learn, explore and develop themselves whilst giving them an awesome place to play.

Ugandan life

Uganda is a beautiful, green country with the mighty River Nile running through the middle and with a warm, welcoming culture that you will fall in love with. Our volunteers live locally, with our building teams, in the community that they are impacting. This gives the opportunity to really be immersed in the local culture and to form fantastic bonds with the local children, community, our build team and other volunteers that will last a life time.

Our values

At East African Playgrounds, our predominant concern is that the volunteer and the community get equal amounts out of our volunteering projects. We reflect this in many ways: for example, without the volunteers, we are not able to employ locals, we build and maintain our playgrounds to UK playground standards and ensure that our volunteers are taught the cultural norms of the communities they will live and work within.
