The Gorilla Trek Coordinator will be supporting our international challenges program. The role will be based in the UK between October and May working alongside universities, schools and corporates to recruit the volunteers and provide fundraising support to ensure each volunteer meets their minimum fundraising amount. They will then be based in Uganda between June and September to work alongside our Ugandan Country Director to coordinate the project logistics and provide volunteer support whilst the volunteers trek to find the last remaining silverback gorillas and build a playground for a school.

We are looking for an ambitious, organised and independent candidate to support our 150 plus volunteers in the UK and in Uganda. The charity has established itself as one of the leading international volunteering and adventure projects in the University student market, being nominated as charity of the year in 2014. Led by the coordinators, these projects have become our core income.
To build on the success of the fundraising team, the charity needs a Gorilla Trek Coordinator who can continue and grow the success of our ethical volunteering project. The candidate will strive for excellence within the team to provide a robust, sustainable and diverse funding platform for the charity to excel and increase their impact.

Contract Permanent, full time (37 hours per week)
Start date 1st September 2017
Location Enderby, Leicestershire and Jinja, Uganda
Salary £15,000 salary plus bonus
Benefits 3 months working in Uganda including accommodation, flights and allowances
Accountable to International Events Manager
Responsible for Developing relationships, with universities schools and corporate, in order to recruit and support the volunteers with their preparation, fun
